Good evening,

Some of the hidden victims of the Covid-19 outbreak have never actually got the disease.

They are the people whose mental health has suffered hugely from the isolation which has been imposed on us; those who have been furloughed or lost their jobs; the men and women who live with a violent or abusive partner and of course the children who are losing out on vital learning as their schools are closed and they have little or no access to technology.

It is shocking to think that the impact of these few months may well stay with all of those people for the rest of their lives and it is important that we, as a society, do all we can to ensure that does not happen.

Perhaps most sad is the group of people who have decided not to seek medical advice for a worsening condition during the coronavirus outbreak because they are fearful of getting the virus or do not want to bother already-busy medics.

The NHS has urged those people to come forward for treatment.

Sometimes in these situations, time is of the essence, so if this is you, get help. Now.

Until next time, stay safe.
