Meet the Pastry Chef Serving Farm-Fresh, Plant-Based Gelato

On a busy Saturday morning at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, it’s easy to find Flora Gelateria. In their tent in front of the Ferry Building, decorated with various shades of pink, Christine Law and her daughter, Audrey, serve a variety of dairy-free gelato flavors that you can enjoy in a cup or over a warm, fresh waffle. Along with Christine’s husband, Brian, this family runs a unique business focused on climate-friendly desserts. Some flavors, like the Flavor King Pluot, are made with ingredients sourced fresh from the farmers market.

Use your favorite hot sauce in this spicy spin on a traditional breakfast with eggs, onions, and sauteed vegetables.Kaliva Morgan of Evolution Hot Sauce demonstrated this recipe.

Ferry Plaza Farmers Market: Featured Vendors

Whether it's quail, duck, pork, or rabbits, Mark Pasternak and Myriam Kaplan-Pasternak offer sustainable meat raised on their diversified ranch in Marin County. Visit them on Saturdays in the Ferry Plaza.

Karla Rosales Barrios makes small-batch salsas and sauces using local ingredients. At the La Cocina tent on Saturdays in October, visit Pass the Sauced for offerings like Roasted Fire Mildish Salsa.

Mission Community Market: Featured Vendors

Small-Batch Dips and Chips at Hummus Heaven

From artichoke to lemon mint, Mourad and Tarek Cherif have curated a variety of unique hummus flavors inspired by seasonal foods. Visit them at the Mission Market on Thursdays, or the Ferry Plaza on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Tory and Rebecca Torosian have been growing sweet, delicious fruit in Dinuba for more than 50 years. In the Mission on Thursdays and at the Ferry Plaza on Saturdays, stop by for juicy grapes and other fall fruits.
