We’re gonna need some nachos (and grilled cheese, and brownies).

COOK THIS NOW

A Meal Plan to Carry You Through

Photo: brownies recipe.

There are many ways to deal with the stress of an election week. There’s the cookie cure (baking them, sure, but mostly just eating them). There’s the take-out cure. And there’s the giving-up-on-cooking-altogether cure, where you stick to a diet of apples and peanut butter until every last vote is counted. Hey, when you’re stressed out just thinking about the election, every option is valid.

So here’s another one: dinner as distraction. That’s where the latest edition of Cooking Through It comes in. This meal plan will carry you through Halloween weekend and into early next week, through election day, and the day that follows. The best part? The food gets more comforting (and more easy) as the week goes on, assuming you’re comforted by hot porridge and melted cheese. Because voting together feels good—but voting together with nachos (and brownies!) feels even better.
