Situational Analysis | Nov. 10, 2022 It's (already) Thursday and National Vanilla Cupcake Day. And, a very happy birthday to the US Marine Corps. They've been around a while! Enjoy your (brief) reprieve from campaign ads. The 2023/2024 elections have already begun. If you are considering running, I've written about some things for you to think about as you get started. Be in the Know The Senate race in Georgia will head to a runoff on December 6 as neither Sen. Raphael Warnock nor challenger Herschel Walker hit 50%. So, so close: Warnock is at 49.4% and Walker is at 48.5%. Georgia could once again decide which party controls the Senate. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloneyâchair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committeeâconceded to GOP challenger Mike Lawler in the stateâs 17th Congressional District, marking the first time a DCCC head has been defeated in more than 40 years. Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert is currently trailing her Democratic opponent Adam Frisch by fewer than 100 votes with 99% of the votes in. Democrats in Michigan take control of the state legislature for the first time in 40 years, with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer winning re-election by double-digits and flipping the House and Senate. Hillary Scholten flipped a GOP Congressional seat and he current Secretary of State and Attorney General, both Democrats, are on track to win. In Minnesota, Democrats flipped the state Senate. The House and governorship was already controlled by Dems. Rapid Roundup The Utah House majority caucuses will hold leadership elections tonight; the Utah Jazz became the first team in the NBA to win 10 games this season; Mehmet Oz conceded to John Fetterman in Pennsylvania, Sen.
