India is a country with 29 states and 22 official regional languages with over 1600 dialects. With a high level of mobile Internet penetration, the number of non-English Internet users is increasing. According to a study by KPMG and Google, by 2022, 9 out of every 10 new internet users in India are likely to be non-English Internet users. The study further states that the number of Indian language-speaking Internet users has already overtaken English-speaking language users, and the number of Indian vernacular language-speaking internet users is expected to reach 536 million by 2022. |
