Dear John, In the third week of our program – The Joy of Yoga – the classes are all about connecting with joy. So here are three little ways you can do that off the mat too. Micro-dose. Look for daily mini-moments of joy – no matter how small, recognise them as pleasurable and savour them with all your might. Notice. Focus on how the moment of joy feels in your body. Scan, head to toe with curiosity and acceptance. Describe the sensations to yourself, or try this exercise with a partner. Breathe. Deep breathing may keep the joy flowing – holding your breath tends to halt emotions. The breath has the power to expand the sense of joy from your centre to the outermost edges of you! Let’s connect with joy and each other this week through five new practices plus the final live class, with Anna Sugarman on Friday! Love, Esther and the team |
