Study: How gender language affects response to job ads A study in the UK by Openreach found that women were 200% more interested in submitting an application for an engineering job when the job advertisement's language was amended to use different phrases and gender-neutral terms. Eighty percent of the respondents said they initially did not want to work in engineering, but when the job post was rewritten -- and the word "engineer" was replaced with "network coordinator" -- 56% indicated interest in the job.
