| The comings and goings — and stayings — at LSU are continuing at a dizzying pace. First of all, new football coach Brian Kelly filled two more spots on his staff Wednesday, hiring Brian Polian to be LSU's special teams coordinator and retaining Brad Davis as offensive line coach. Davis, you may recall, was already designated as LSU's interim head coach in its preprations for the Jan. 4 Texas Bowl against Kansas State. Contract details for Polian and Jacob Flint, LSU's new strength and conditioning coach, can be found here. Meanwhile, longtime LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond is heading to Florida. A 10-year veteran of LSU's staff under Les Miles and Ed Orgeron, Raymond will be designated defensive backs coach and assistant coach of the defense under new Florida and former UL coach Billy Napier. Raymond's replacement as LSU defensive backs coach is Kerry Cooks, who you can read more about here. In the wake of the big coaching news Tuesday — the return of long-time LSU assistant and running backs coach Frank Wilson — the school released his contract terms Wednesday. Wilson will serve as LSU's associate head coach. While the picture of LSU's football coaching staff remains largely unsettled, it's a totally different situation with LSU women's basketball. Jim Kleinpeter tells us Mulkey brought eight assistants and staff members with her from Baylor. That continuity has contributed to the Tigers' 6-1 start and being ranked for the first time in two years. Back to football, where on Wednesday a seventh LSU player entered the transfer portal: freshman defensive end Landon Jackson. And lastly, before landing Kelly as its coach, reportedly LSU athletic director Scott Woodward put the full-court press on former LSU offensive coordinator and current Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher to come back for a record salary.
