Hello Litquakers, You’ve seen our schedule, but have you bought tickets to our opening night party? We’re celebrating Litquake’s 23rd year with our first-ever Literary Night Market! Drive, bus, or bike your way out to the beautiful Presidio, for three hours of bookish fun, food, and drink. Mingle with Daniel Handler, Alka Joshi, Margaret Wilkerson Sexton, and tons of other authors and industry folk as we kick off our favorite time of the year. While you’re there, you can pick up a book from the Friends of the SF Public Library bookstore, or grab a record from our vintage vinyl shop. We’ll have complimentary beverages (alcoholic and non) from Ghia, Zaddy’s, Fort Point, and the Mezcalistas, as well as tasty treats from Marin French Cheese Co., Semifreddi’s, and more. You can also stop by the Litquake merch booth for T-shirts, stickers and posters, and pick up a Festival Guide to plan your next 16 days at Litquake. We’ll see you there! |

Check out our opening weekend of panels on Craft and the Creative Life. While writing can be a stimulating, fulfilling, and joyous pursuit, it can also be incredibly daunting. This year, we’re carving out space explicitly for aspiring writers, in attempts to demystify both the writing process and the literary industry. Through various workshops and panel discussions at local arts hub Southern Exposure, you’ll get the inside scoop on just what makes the world of literature go ’round. The listings above are just a sample of the many major authors, publishers, journalists, and other industry folk we have lined up to help you navigate the world of literature, so be sure to explore the complete list of events on our website. |
