The wait for a cheaper Vision Pro looks like a long one

Apple was expected to launch a cheaper version of the Vision Pro in 2025, but a reliable analyst has just claimed otherwise

One of the biggest issues with Apple’s Vision Pro is its hefty $3,500 price tag. Reports have long suggested that the tech giant was aiming to launch a basic, more wallet-friendly version of its mixed-reality headset next year.

But the prominent supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has just claimed that a more affordable Vision Pro won’t hit the shelves until 2027 at the earliest due to various factors.

Kuo said Apple could fill the gap in the product launch window with an updated Vision Pro model with the next-gen M5 silicon ...

Discolored line on your new Kindle? You aren’t alone

Some users have been noticing yellow coloring on the screen of Amazon’s first full-color e-reader

Amazon’s recently released Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition has a discolored yellow area at the bottom of the screen, according to a number of user reports.

The cause of the discoloration isn't clear, according to a Digital Trends report. Some owners of the new device said that it only happens when using the edge lighting feature, and others claim that it appears after a software update.

Amazon has yet to comment on the fault, although one Reddit user has posted a screenshot that seems to indicate the company is aware of the issue and is working on a fix that will hopefully be rolled out soon ...

Kanto’s Ora4 desktop speakers drive more bass, more power

Kanto's new Ora4 speakers take the formula it established with the Ora Reference model and improve it

Compared to the older and impressive Kanto Ora desktop speakers, the Canadian audio company’s new Ora4 speakers offer deeper bass, more power, and hi-res audio.

Slightly larger than the Ora but weighing nearly twice as much, the Ora4’s 3/4-inch silk dome tweeters remain the same as the Ora's, but the woofers are now bigger (4-inch versus 3-inch) and are made from magnetically shielded aluminum instead of paper.

Kanto’s Ora4 speakers are available now for $400 in either matte white or matte black, from Amazon and several other retailers ...

Venom wins the weekend, but Hanks' Here flops on debut

The fantasy drama cost $45 million to make but only managed to take $5 million over the weekend

As expected, Venom: The Last Dance topped the weekend box office in North America, Variety reported. Sony’s third and final chapter in the Marvel antihero trilogy raked in $26.1 million in its second weekend of release, just over half of what it earned on its debut a week ago.

Other top performers included The Wild Robot and Smile 2, securing second and third places with $7.6 million and $6.8 million, respectively

But fantasy drama, Here, starring Tom Hanks and directed by Robert Zemeckis, had a disappointing debut, earning just $5 million, placing it fifth behind the Ralph Fiennes-led thriller Conclave, which took $5.3 million on its second weekend ...

New Atari 50 DLC shows Intellivision acquisition already paying off

Atari 50 is getting a new DLC that's breaking down the video game industry's first console war

Digital Eclipse's Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is an excellent and comprehensive look back at the company's now classic video game lineup.

So far, it's gotten one DLC: The Wider World of Atari, that added even more titles. Now, it's about to get its second, Digital Trends reported. Atari announced The First Console War on Friday, and as its name suggests, it's about the company's first console war with the Intellivision, whose maker it acquired in May.

Launching this Friday for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 Atari 50 owners, The First Console War brings 19 more games, including Astroblast, Star Strike, and International Soccer ...
