College to Career Challenges Facing Campuses |
|
The challenges to helping students move smoothly from classroom to career are many. Among them: How can institutions prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s jobs when in-demand skills are changing so quickly? How can colleges close equity gaps in employability for low-income and first-generation students and students of color, so that a four-year degree guarantees a good job for all students, not just those with built-in advantages? New Pathways From College to Career will examine how the revolution in work has created new demands on colleges, affecting what they teach and the ways in which they help prepare students for the job market. And it will highlight some of the exciting innovations in career education and development that can help colleges more sure-footedly guide students along the path from study to work. |
