Netflix is spending billions — yes, billions — on original content. Let’s talk about it.

Code Conference 2019

Hi,

Netflix has upended the media world, first by creating a mainstream way to stream TV shows and movies, and now by spending billions to create its own TV shows and movies.

The person in charge of that spending is Cindy Holland, a longtime Netflix veteran who runs the company’s original content group, which makes her one of the most important people in the entertainment world. That also means she gets to work with people like Natasha Lyonne, the producer, director, and star of Netflix’s inventive, hilarious, and provocative show Russian Doll.

That’s why we’re excited that both Holland and Lyonne will join us at Code in June, where they’ll talk about the opportunities and challenges in telling new stories to Netflix’s 140 million subscribers. It’s a timely discussion, since this is the year media giants like Disney, Apple, and AT&T roll out their own attempts to take on Netflix.

You can join us June 10-12 for that talk and many more at Code’s new location — The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Kara and Peter
