Coco Montoya has graduated from his early days as a drummer to his current status as one of the top-drawing guitarists and vocalists on the blues-rock scene, Coco earned his status through years of hard work and constant touring. It all started with a chance meeting in the '70s with legendary bluesman Albert Collins, who offered Coco a gig as his drummer. Albert took an immediate liking to Montoya, becoming his mentor and teaching his new protégé the secrets of Collins' "icy hot" style of blues guitar. Coco later spent 10 years with Blues icon John Mayall and his Bluesbreakers. During this time Coco proved himself to be a world-class guitar master in one of the most renowned blues bands ever. Averaging around 200 dates a year, Coco continues to pack clubs and theaters around the world. Sistahs Too features Lila Sherman and Rochelle Raya who have been laying down deep-rooted original blues in the Southwest region for the last two decades. Original members of Sistah Blue, one of The Valley's favorite groups during the '90s Blues heyday in these parts, these two ladies continue to deliver outstanding original and soulful blues music. Their latest self-titled album features Rochelle and Lila along with the musical group Poptop, composed of Rocky Heyer (guitar), Dennis Drewry (bass), and Ricky Lockhart (drums). These gals will get you off your seats and on your feets...!! |
