Despite some terrific content like today's Media Winner interview, by most measures CNN has had some rough ratings results recently. In fact, not a single CNN show cracked the million viewer mark on Monday.
The network, which saw historic post-election levels of viewership, notched just one dayparts victory over MSNBC in the valuable demographic of viewers age 25-54, according to Nielsen data. CNN’s highest-rated show on Monday was embattled host Chris Cuomo’s Cuomo Prime Time, which had 919,000 total viewers. MSNBC’s most-watched program, The Rachel Maddow Show, notched 2.43 million, and Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight had 2.79 million. In the key demo. Cuomo averaged 191k viewers age 25-54, with Maddow at 349k and Carlson at 440k. Fox News was first in total day, with 1.45 million total viewers, 227k in the demo. MSNBC was second in total viewers with 1.09 million, and third in the demo at 137k. CNN was third, with 636k, and second in the demo, with 144k. In prime time, Fox averaged 2.44 million total viewers (nearly triple CNN’s total), and 383k in the demo. MSNBC was second, with 1.88 million total (more than double CNN’s), and 242k in the demo.
