Cleveland National Air Show

The Cleveland National Air Show is September 2-4 at Burke Lakefront Airport. Fans will enjoy air performances and ground attractions showing off both new and vintage military air technology. The 2023 headliner will be the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Six Thunderbird demonstration pilots will put red, white and blue F-16 Fighting Falcon jets through a choreographed performance at speeds up to 500 mph. Admission tickets and parking passes are available only online. No tickets will be available at the gate. Tickets are $35 adults, $20 youth. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 2, 3, 4. Cleveland Oktoberfest

Cleveland’s Oktoberfest, on the first two September weekends, is more than food and beer. You’ll get plenty of both including knackwurst, bratwurst, Wienerschnitzel, goulash and pierogi. But the musical acts on three stages – from polka to popular to German -- are impressive. The headliner is Wish You Were Here – The Sight & Sound of Pink Floyd. The 28-year band is North America’s largest Pink Floyd stage production. They will start at 8:30 p.m., Sept. 9. Sept. 1-4, and Sept. 8-9. Great Geauga County Fair is 201 years old

While agricultural displays are shrinking at many fairs, Northeast Ohio produce and livestock will be on full display at the 201st Great Geauga County Fair -- Ohio’s oldest fair. The event is held from Thursday, Aug. 31 to Monday, Sept. 4 at the Geauga County Fairgrounds. Visitors can enjoy rides, games, food, entertainment and more. Animal barns will be open and home economic exhibits on display. Seniors are free on Friday, Sept. 1. Be sure to get your 4-H milkshake. Made in Ohio Art & Craft Festival at Hale Farm

The annual Made in Ohio Art & Craft Festival is back at Hale Farm & Village this weekend. A juried festival it spotlights Ohio artisans, local food and entertainment. Vendors include jewelry artists, potters, woodworkers, glass artists, soap and lotion makers, quilters and more. Enjoy shopping and history during a visit. Hungarian Festival in Parma

Ohio’s largest Hungarian Festival is Sunday, Sept. 3. Attendees can enjoy food, music, dance, and activities. The “café” opens at noon with chicken paprikas with dumplings, stuffed cabbage, Hungarian sausage, grilled pork steak, jam-filled crepes, and “lángos” (fried dough) as well as tortes, pastry, strudel, and espresso coffee. 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. German Central Park, 7863 York Rd., Parma. A Splendid Land: Paintings from Royal Udaipur

Organized by the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art in Washington, D.C. to celebrate its 100th anniversary this year, this exhibition at the Cleveland Museum of Art focuses on 200 years of landscape paintings commissioned by the kings of Mewar, the royal dynasty that once ruled from Udaipur, India. Cleveland Museum of Art MIX: Raja

The Cleveland Museum of Art’s next MIX event is Friday, Sept. 1. MIX: Raja celebrates South Asian music, dance, art, and cuisine. Rajasthani dancers and musicians from Mandala Arts in Chicago will present a dance performance and workshop. DJ Sobe follows, spinning a massive set of South Asian party beats and more familiar hits. Disney “The Sound of Magic” at Blossom

The Cleveland Orchestra will perform “Disney: The Sound of Magic,” a symphonic celebration of Disney music, animation, and memories, all weekend. This new concert includes memorable songs, scores, and movie moments of the first 100 years of The Walt Disney Company. Prepare for Peter Pan, Moana, Aladdin, The Jungle Book, Frozen, The Lion King, Fantasia, Encanto, Disney Parks classics, and more. 'Six'

Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. This Tony-winning musical at Playhouse Square’s Connor Palace tells the stories of Henry VIII’s six wives from their perspectives. Each queen draws inspiration from a modern pop diva -- think Beyonce or Ariana Grande -- in a competition to determine which one of them suffered the most. Tickets $35-$120. Cleveland Ballet and Cleveland Opera at Italian Cultural Garden

Cleveland Ballet and Cleveland Opera will perform together, Sunday, Sept. 3, at the Italian Cultural Garden along Martin Luther King, Jr., and East boulevards. The performance will feature well-known music from Italian opera and Broadway musicals as well as a preview of Cleveland Ballet’s September 22-23 performances at Playhouse Square. Purchase a reserved seat close to the stage or arrive early to choose a spot in the free, open seating within the gardens. Enjoy wine tasting by Little Italy Wines. Asian Lantern Festival

The annual family-favorite festival rolls on this weekend at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo with dazzling displays including a nearly 40-foot-tall giant lantern, walk-through tunnels and a 150-foot-long Enchanted Garden Experience. East Coast Original Frozen Custard

Summer might be coming to an end, but there’s still plenty of time for one last ice cream cone from East Coast Original Frozen Custard. You’d be hard-pressed to find a frozen treat with a consistency nearly as rich and thick as the custard from the local chain, which has been around since the 1980s. East Coast Custard has five locations across Northeast Ohio in Lyndhurst, Mentor, Painesville, Parma Heights, and Fairview Park. The menu always features rotating flavors of custard, but it’s never a bad idea to stop for the classic chocolate or vanilla options. ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’

"Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," Harrison Ford's last outing as the adventure-seeking archaeologist, is finally available to watch at home via video-on-demand. This fifth installment might not be quite as great as "Raiders" or "The Last Crusade," but it's also more fun than many gave it credit for on its bumpy release this summer. Veteran director James Mangold took the helm from Steven Spielberg and does his best to capture all the things we love about Indy, including a possibly too-extended flashback featuring our hero de-aged to 45. It's really not necessary because Ford, at 80, is firing on all levels — as funny, vibrant and game as he ever was. Plus there's the added bonus of a great new character played by "Fleabag's" Phoebe Waller-Bridge. DETAILS

'The Equalizer 3'
Director Antoine Fuqua and star Denzel Washington reunite for the final chapter of “The Equalizer” trilogy. This time, former government assassin Robert McCall is in Italy in search of some peace when he meets some new friends in need of his brand of vigilante justice. Opens Friday in area theaters. 'Bottoms'
In this subversive teen comedy, Rachel Sennott (”The Idol”) and Ayo Edebiri (”The Bear”) play two nerdy high school seniors who start a fight club for the popular girls, hoping it will help them get laid. Now playing in area theaters. DETAILS

Movies on Hulu

It being the beginning of the month, Hulu has a lot of great new offerings coming on Friday, Sept. 1, including the Coen brothers "Hail Caesar!" and "Raising Arizona," Lars von Trier's "Melancholia" and the always re-watchable "The Devil Wears Prada." And on Sunday, Sept. 3, Mark Mylod's fine-dining satire "The Menu" arrives, too, with its terrific ensemble, including Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult, and sharp critiques of wealth and privilege. In his review, AP Film Writer Jake Coyle wrote that while it may be aimed at "somewhat low-hanging fruit," that Mylod brings an icy, stylish flare in another kind of cleverly staged eat-the-rich comedy that — particularly thanks to the elite eye-rolling of Taylor-Joy and Fiennes' anguished artist — is still a very tasty snack." '70s Car Movies on Criterion

And if "Gran Turismo" has you feeling the need for more speed in your life, The Criterion Channel has the answer with a '70s Car Movies anthology pulling into your living room starting Friday, Sept. 1. Among the offerings are Steven Spielberg's 1971 nail-biter "Duel," Lee H. Katzin's Steve McQueen racing classic "Le Mans," Michael Cimino's Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges crime caper "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" and the original "Gone in 60 Seconds." DETAILS

‘One Piece’

"One Piece," a new live-action fantasy series coming to Netflix has been adapted from a beloved Japanese manga and anime series. The graphic novels by Eiichiro Oda have sold more than 516 million copies across 103 volumes in 61 countries, making its success similar to the "Harry Potter" book series. The story follows a protagonist named Monkey D. Luffy who sails the ocean in search of treasure with his band of pirates. "One Piece" debuts Thursday on Netflix. DETAILS

‘The Wheel of Time’

The fantasy series "The Wheel of Time" returns to Prime Video for its second season on Friday, Sept. 1. Rosamund Pike stars as Moiraine Damodred, a member of the Aes Sedai, a group of women with magical gifts. We meet Moiraine on a quest to find the Dragon, a long dead leader with the ability to save or destroy the world. "The Wheel of Time" is based on a 14-book series of the same name created by Robert Jordan. A third season has already been ordered. DETAILS

‘Power Book IV: Force ‘

The third "Power" spin-off, "Power Book IV: Force," debuts its second season on Starz on Friday, Sept. 1. It centers around Joseph Sikora's Tommy Egan character, a convicted drug dealer who leaves New York for Chicago to continue his criminal enterprise. DETAILS

Shinedown at Blossom Music Center

Shinedown released its first album, “Leave a Whisper,” 20 years ago. And things have been loud ever since. Since that platinum debut, the Florida-formed rock quartet has reeled off six more albums and a record 19 No. 1 Billboard Mainstream Rock singles. The group’s latest album, “Planet Zero,” came out 14 months ago, debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and spawning the rock hits “Daylight,” “Dead Don’t Die” and the title track. Another single, “A Symptom of Being Human,” has been crossed over to Adult Contemporary, opening another vista for Shinedown. The band performs on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Blossom Music Center on a bill with Papa Roach and Spiritbox. DETAILS

Icona Pop

They came from Sweden by way of outer space and now the explosive electropop duo Icona Pop return with their third full-length album and first in 10 years, "Club Romantech." Members Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt made sure the wait was worth it. The release is stacked with post-hiatus cosmic pop, earworm hooks as addictive as the one in the Charli XCX -penned hit "I Love It" that put them on the map in 2012. That's evidenced in their single with Galantis, "I want you" and the playful chorus "I want you/We don't have to play these games, play theses games/ 'Cause I want you." It pays to be direct. NCT

In their lead single and title track from their fourth full-length album, the 20-member K-pop super group NCT announce they've entered their "Golden Age." Who could argue otherwise? The track, which serves as the LP's closer and its thematic anchor, is an eclecticist's dream: absurdist trap, glossy vocal harmonies, and an interpolation of some Beethoven — Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13, "Sonata Pathétique" II. Adagio cantabile — in one. And that's not even the best part: all 20 members are heard on it, a rarity and feat in itself, which of course includes NCT's famed subunits, NCT 127, NCT DREAM and WayV. No matter your bias, there's a lot to love. DETAILS

Trippie Redd

Former SoundCloud star and rapper Trippie Redd is bringing his “Take Me Away Tour to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Saturday, September 2. Tickets for the show start at $49.50. The Canton native, born Michael Lamar White II, is riding the success of his fifth full-length album “Mansion Musik” released in January. The guest-filled 24-track album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Rap Albums Chart and number two on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and number 3 on the Billboard 200. Opening for Redd will be Chicago emcee Lucki, who has had success with his 2022 debut album “Flawless Like Me.” DETAILS

Groove to Northeast Ohio’s finest jazz musicians this weekend at the Hingetown Jazz Festival. A total of seven acts will take stages at the Bop Stop, Jukebox, and North High Brewing on Saturday, Sept. 2. You’ll enjoy soulful melodies to toe-tapping beats.
