Quick tip of the dayCan’t find a tape measure? The Measure app for iPhone uses augmented reality to turn your phone into one. Here’s how it works: Open the Measure app, then follow any on-screen instructions that ask you to move your device around. This gives your phone a frame of reference for the object you’re measuring and the surface it’s on. Move your phone until a circle with a dot in the center appears.Adjust your phone so that the dot is over the starting point of your measurement, then tap the Add button.Slowly move your phone until the dot is over your measurement’s ending point, then tap the Add button again. That’s it! |

AND FINALLY ...Did you know robots can make music? Over on Twitter, @MelodyBot3456 randomly generates instruments, tempos and keys to create original songs every hour. It uses every instrument you could possibly imagine … and then some. For instance, one song uses “1812 Cannons” as an instrument. That’s right — it’s just a rhythmic series of explosive sounds. Instead of taking you on a musical journey, it sounds like you’re part of a seaside pirate battle. Give it a listen here, but turn down your volume first. |
