~Lexie Saige My husband and I had just purchased our first house together, so we were eager to spend the weekend cleaning it out and fixing it up. The place was a tiny two-bedroom fixer-upper and we could hardly wait to make it into a cozy home. My mother-in-law Denise had volunteered to do the heavy scrubbing indoors, leaving my father-in-law to do handyman repairs throughout the house. My husband and I would work on the fence and yard. We would be leaving our black rescue cat Squeakers indoors with them until she got used to the place.
