Classic Choir live from the Sydney Opera House

You made it to the silly season after another big one and now it's time to do what the whole world does best in December: sing!

Get ready to belt out Summer Together with the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs this Sunday at 2pm, whether you're enjoying the concert at home, or in the audience.

It's been my privilege to learn alongside you this year. Soprano Glenys was just one of the singers I got to meet through the Classic Choir. She reminded me how vulnerable we can feel in a room full of strangers singing a new song, but also how rewarding it is.

Nardi Simpson summed it up best for me. She told me she learns more about herself by listening to her best friend Kaleena Briggs when they sing together than by doing anything else.

And that's really the core of what choral singing is about — listening. When do we really listen to someone else? And give a part of ourselves back to them as we sing along. That's precious.
