Join the CoNext: Climate Preparedness Hub!

CoNext Climate Preparedness Hub is a free, 5-month training program designed to build climate resilience in small, rural, and remote communities in BC. This program provides Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities with the skills, tools, and support needed to develop and implement effective climate adaptation strategies.

In 2024/25, 16 communities from across BC participated in the first year of the program, with representation from First Nations, local governments, and regional districts. The second year of CoNext, kicking off in Fall 2025, will build on this success and continue to support small communities in their climate preparedness journey.

COMMUNITY ENERGY ASSOCIATION

The Community Energy Association is pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 2025 Climate & Energy Action Awards! These awards celebrate municipalities, regional districts, and Indigenous communities in BC working to advance actions related to climate and energy in their communities.

Do you know of a local initiative that deserves to be recognized? Nominate it! Share what it means for your community, how it contributes to resiliency and reduces (or will reduce) local greenhouse gas emissions, and the related benefits that are setting your community up for future success.

All the nominations are profiled by the Community Energy Association and will be featured in CEA’s August newsletter and the December edition of Municipal World Magazine. The winners will be announced at the Union of BC Municipalities convention in September.

The deadline to apply is Monday, July 14th at 11:59 am Pacific. More information, including the link to submit your nomination, is available on the CEA website: https://www.communityenergy.ca/awards/
