Celestica Introduces Latest Enterprise Campus Switch: the ES1500, Designed for Performance and Reliability at the AI-Edge

Offering up to 220 Gbps of switching capacity, the ES1500 is the newest addition to Celestica’s suite of campus access and gateway switches, with up to 2.5X faster port speeds than our traditional ES1000 GbE model for new edge IoT and edge-AI applications. It is designed from the ground up to address the unique demands of modern IT infrastructure for campus, retail, IoT and enterprise access. With a focus on optimizing both capital and operational expenditures, the ES1500 delivers robust reliability and performance to help remote networks effortlessly support the evolving demands of the enterprise edge.

XENSIV™ Magnetic 3D Sensor Enables High-Precision Position Detection in Automotive, Industrial, and Consumer Applications

The new sensor family measures the magnetic field in three orthogonal dimensions and operates as an I²C or SPI bus slave. The devices offer enhanced magnetic performance and accuracy, with very low deviation over their lifetime (X/Y < 1.7% X-Y/Z = 6.75%). The 3D magnetic measurement principle and platform adaptability enabled by the device's configurability allow for a reduction in the number of required components. Additionally, the system's power consumption is very low due to its wake-up mode. The TLE493D-X3XX supports a supply voltage of 3.3 V and 5 V and offers 3D magnetic field measurement ranges of ±50 mT, ±100 mT, and ±160 mT.

Light Up Your Life: Why the Headlamp Deserves a Spot in Your Toolkit

I used to think headlamps were goofy.

The first time a headlamp entered my awareness was back in 2001 when the first season of the Amazing Race debuted. I watched teams dash through foreign cities in the middle of the night, sweaty and stressed, those dorky little lights strapped to their foreheads, like unicorns. 🦄

A flashlight... on your face? Really?

Fast-forward a couple decades. I’m not running through foreign alleys, but I am trying to clean the filter in my dishwasher and get the hair unclogged from the bathroom sink. And in those moments? The headlamp is a revelation.

It frees your hands. It follows your eyes. It doesn’t roll off the table or get wedged between stuff. It just…works. How often does that happen anymore?

Let There Be Light

Need to crawl under the sink to find a leak or shut the water off before you head out of town? Headlamp. Power went out and you're hunting for candles or checking the breaker panel? Headlamp. Digging through bins in storage, power went out or working on a DIY project that requires both hands and your full attention? You guessed it: headlamp.

What makes it so brilliant is its simplicity. You strap it on, turn it on, and wherever you look, there’s light. You don’t have to prop up a flashlight awkwardly or try to hold your phone under your chin. Your hands are free. You’re mobile. You can focus completely on what you’re doing. It’s one of the few tools that truly disappears once you’re using it. I can't tell you how much I adore this little device I ended up with for free.

Shedding Light in the Darkest Corners

There’s somewhat of a quiet dignity to the headlamp. It certainly doesn’t try to look impressive or cool. It helps you see what you need to see, and stay hands-free so you can get things done alone, safely and efficiently.

So if you’ve got one stashed away in your camping gear, maybe give it a new life in your kitchen drawer or toolbox. You might be surprised how often you reach for it. I was. And if you don’t have one yet? Treat yourself. It’s a small, forehead-mounted reminder that sometimes the best tools aren’t flashy, they just quietly make your life a whole lot easier. I use mine all the time.

And hey...looking a little dorky is a small price to pay for feeling like an absolute home-repair legend. 🔦
