| LoRa Ref Design Enables Full Duplex Gateways | Semtech has announced the launch of a new product in its LoRa Core portfolio, the LoRa Corecell Reference Design for full duplex gateway applications in the U.S. 902 – 928MHz ISM band. The new turnkey gateway solution enables the expansion of network capacity for outdoor and indoor applications, such as smart metering, smart building and smart factory. The reference design enables network owners to increase network capacity while deploying fewer gateways, providing cost savings to end customers when compared to cellular alternatives, says Semtech. | |
| Nordic’s BLE SoC Tapped for Wearable Tracker | Nordic Semiconductor has announced that VOS Systems has selected Nordic’s nRF52840 Bluetooth 5.2/Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth LE) advanced multiprotocol System-on-Chip (SoC) to power its “AlertTrace Mini”, a wearable solution designed to automate workforce contact tracing. | |
| Environmental Multi-Sensor Device Runs on RPi CM4 | Sfera Labs has launched a $276 “Exo Sense Pi” multi-sensor computer based on a Raspberry Pi (RPi) CM4 with sensors for air quality, temp, humidity, light and motion plus RS-485, an open collector output, 2x digital inputs, a mic and an RTC. The Exo Sense Pi is designed for residential and commercial applications such as environmental monitoring and data gathering, BLE positioning, indoor people and assets tracking and more. | |
| Device Monitors Home Air-Quality and CO2 | Indoor air can be filled with high amounts of carbon dioxide as well as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), both harmful to our health. With that in mind, Andrei built a smart air purifier made using IoT technologies that cleans the air automatically whenever excessive impurities are detected and controls a fan when CO2 levels are high. | |
| ST Joins mioty Alliance to Fuel Massive IoT Apps | STMicroelectronics (ST) has announced its support for the mioty standard, which enables highly scalable, long-range and extremely low-power wireless connections. Joining the mioty Alliance, which maintains the specifications and promotes the technology, ST has announced availability of a protocol stack from ST Authorized Partner Stackforce that allows customers to create mioty devices using the STM32WL wireless System-on-Chip (SoC). | |
Firefly Launches $89 and up SBC with an RK3566 and M.2 Storage Firefly has launched a “ROC-RK3566-PC” SBC with a Rockchip RK3566 and 2GB ($89) or 4GB ($119) RAM plus 32GB eMMC, GbE, WiFi/BT, MIPI, HDMI, M.2 and 3x USB. Specs have also been posted for a RK3568-based model. | | |
