| Whiskey Lake Pico-ITX Board Supports Extended Temps | Axiomtek’s “PICO52R” Pico-ITX SBC delivers an Intel 8th Gen UE-series CPU, triple display support, 2x GbE, 2x USB 3.0, SATA, M.2 and -20°C to 60°C support. The Intel 8th Gen Whiskey Lake-UE powered PICO52R can be considered an update to Axiomtek’s 7th Gen Kaby Lake-U based PICO51R. The 100mm x 72mm SBC joins two other Whiskey Lake Pico-ITXers— Commell’s LP-178 and Aaeon’s PICO-WHU4—and it’s the only one with extended -20°C to 60°C support. | |
| M.2 Card and Raspberry Pi-Based Gateway Deliver Real-Time Ethernet | Hilscher has launched a cifX M.2 expansion card equipped with its netX 90 Real-Time Ethernet controller. It has also begun shipping a netPI gateway. The NetPI Real-Time Ethernet gateway combines a Raspberry Pi 3 with Hilscher’s “netHAT 52-RTE.” The Germany-based Real-Time Ethernet technology firm also recently announced a netX 90 Starterkit | |
| FPGA/PC Streaming Made Simple | The Enclustra FPGA Manager IP Solution enables simple and efficient data transfer between a host PC and an FPGA via USB 3.0, Gbit Ethernet or PCI Express. The solution includes a host software library (DLL) and an IP core for the FPGA. The user application communicates with the FPGA via a simple API with read/write commands that hide the complexity of the underlying protocol. Both streaming and memory mapped accesses are supported. The IP Solution is a simple-to-use drop-in block and is optimized for Intel and Xilinx FPGAs and SoCs. | |

| Dual-LAN SBC with RK3328 Starts at $24 | The Rock Pi E from Radxa is an SBC with dual LAN ports that runs Linux on a quad-core, Cortex-A53 Rockchip RK3328.The compact, 65mm x 56mm networking board is a big sister to Radxa’s even smaller, quad -A35 RK3308-based Rock Pi S. The Rock Pi E provides both 10/100Mbps and PoE-ready GbE ports instead of 10/100 only. It swaps out a 26-pin GPIO for 40-pin and boosts the USB port to USB 3.0. | |
| Tech Spotlight: Mini-ITX and Pico-ITX SBCs Pack in Performance | Products based on small-sized versions of the ITX form factor—Mini-ITX and Pico-ITX—continue to capture embedded market share and mindshare. They provide system developers with complete PC-functionality and advanced graphics. | |
| ATX SBC Supports Scalable Xeon Processors | WIN Enterprises has announced the MB-50160. The MB-50160 offers OEMs a server-grade platform solution for the monitoring and control of large-scale factory production. The board supports the Intel Xeon Scalable Processor family with LGA 3647 socket and a TDP up to 145W, as well as Xeon Silver, Gold and Bronze-level processor configurations. | |
