With the main players going modular there is a depth of purpose not seen before, as more power supply manufactures turn to converters in stepping down voltage across larger devices and embedded technologies. |

| | In the world of communications, especially in life-saving air-base drones, there is a new push for larger, more lightweight disaster relief drones, with better more efficient modular DC-DC converters. The use of up to 9kW of power is now becoming common, with ground power supplies tethered to the drone and modular DC-DC converters reducing weight, and taking up less overall space
The resulting design improvements have allowed for better communications equipment to be added to the drones, including more higher resolution cameras and audio recording equipment.
