Escape the everyday with a visit to your favorite science center!
A visit to Kentucky Science Center is always full of wonder, play, learning, and adventure! We're open 7 days a week for you to create your own memories.

"We loved our pour painting class - the Maker Space classes are fantastic and give us a chance to try new materials and techniques. We then trekked upstairs to the actual Maker Space and made keychains/earrings with the laser and did packing bubble painting. As my girls grow older (12 and 10), what keeps us coming back to the Science Center is the classes and projects that give us an opportunity to spend time and interact together. SO THANKFUL for the chance to use the space and the expertise of the instructors. Thank you!"

"I saw many team members wiping down things that are touched often-THANK YOU! Whenever you remodel things, please don’t ever get rid of the water section! If it were to be changed, only make it bigger!!! It’s always a favorite of ours!"

Science in the News
President Biden announced his new science team on January 16th. Biden's science team will focus on five key areas: the coronavirus pandemic, the economy, the climate crisis, industry technology advancements, and the long-term health of science and tech in the country.

U.S. Black residents studying and working in STEM fields are underrepresented at every level, from undergraduate degree programs to the workforce. More U.S. students are getting science and engineering degrees than ever before. But the gap for Black students in these fields has been stubbornly wide, as population-adjusted figures show.

For the first time in two centuries, a new chemically-made pigment of the color blue is available for artists — YInMn Blue. It’s named after its components — Yttrium, Indium, and Manganese — and its luminous, vivid pigment never fades, even if mixed with oil and water.

Check out these highlights from a busy year in space launches. So many things launched into space in 2020: Six humans traveled aboard commercial crew vehicles, three spacecraft began journeys to Mars and several hundred distractingly shiny satellites took to the sky.
