China explains Xi’s recent comments on trade, open markets

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s announcement last week to cut import tariffs on cars and open China’s markets was seen by some as a win for President Trump, but a top Chinese official said Xi was not reacting to the US and said negotiations are not possible as long as White House attempts “unilateral coercion.”
