KQED’s award-winning restaurant review program Check, Please! Bay Area returns with four new episodes featuring delicious dining experiences from around the region. Ready for a marathon of tasty restaurant recommendations? The James Beard and Emmy Award-winning Check, Please! Bay Area continues its 19th season this July with two delicious gold-medal twists! Firstly, on all new episodes of Check, Please! Bay Area — from Monday to Thursday starting July 22nd (today!) — host Leslie Sbrocco joins three local residents as they reveal their favorite places to go for a delicious meal, and then their fellow guests go check them out. After sampling one another’s top picks, they join Leslie in the studio to discuss, dispute, and celebrate their dining experiences. Secondly, this week’s marathon concludes with an Olympic surprise: Thursday’s show features guests from Bay FC, the new National Women’s Soccer League team! Bay FC co-founder Danielle Slaton, a former USWNT player who won a silver medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Australia joins Bay FC players Caprice Dydasco and Tess Boade as they all dish on their favorite South Bay spots. Then, from kalbi nachos to brownie affogatos, Cecilia Tries It checks out the best food truck bites at the Bay FC FanFest experience. The fun kicks off Monday, July 22nd at 7:30 p.m. (today!) on KQED 9, as three guests join Leslie at KQED’s San Francisco studio to break down what’s tasty on the menu at LITA in Walnut Creek, Simurgh Bakery and Cafe in Emeryville, and Porterhouse in San Mateo.
