| LIMITED SEATS AVAILABLE In conjunction with the Junior Sport Travel Awards Night in November, Recreation Services is proud to present an opportunity for junior athletes and coaches or other club personnel to attend a special event. Former championship player and vice-captain of the Perth Wildcats, mental health advocate and founder of A Stitch in Time Greg Hire, as well as World Champion paracanoeist Ben Sainsbury will be guest speakers at the Junior Sport Travel Awards Night on 22nd November at the City's Administration building. Additional places are available for clubs with junior athletes to attend and listen to these two inspirational athletes talk about their sport journey, the importance of maintaining mental health well-being, and overcoming serious injury to excel on the world stage. Please email [email protected] with your club's Expression of Interest for up to five places for junior athletes and at least one adult club member/guardian. Further RSVP information will be sent to confirm attendance. Places may be allocated according to demand and availability. |

MANAGING CONFLICT AND DIFFICULT PEOPLE Online Workshop The Dept of Local Government, Sport & Cultural Industries invites coaches, offiicals and committee members to submit an Expression of Interest to attend an online workshop. You will develop skills to better deal with difficult people while preventing and managing conflict. | SPORT & RECREATION EVENTS FUNDING PROGRAM The DLGSC Sport and Recreation Events Funding Program provides financial support to assist sport and active recreation organisations to plan, secure and deliver sport and mass participation events (minimum 100) in Western Australia. Applications are now open to share in the first round of the 2022/23 Funding Program, for events/projects that will be delivered between 1 January to 30 June 2023. A STITCH IN TIME FREE MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM All of us, at one time or another, will experience a mental health issue. Additionally, since early 2020, COVID-19 has emerged as a major health threat to young people aged between 12-24 years of age in Australia (source) A Stitch in Time offer programs that focus on how we can take control of our own mental health every day and aims to open up discussion and provide learning different tools to help so that everyone can do something proactive help themselves feel better.
