Who’s Chalkboy?
If you don’t know the work of Chalkboy, well you should. He’s a Japanese chalk artist who specialises in creating stunning hand lettering and typography. He doesn’t spend all of his time doodling in front of this computer. Instead, you can usually find him creating large-scale typographic murals on cafes and fashion retails walls, crafting gorgeous work for brands like Eslite Taiwan, and serving up regular inspiration on his Instagram (@chalkboy.me).
And here’s the good news!
Chalkboy is coming to Malaysia for his solo exhibition “Hand-Written World”. Join us for a chalkboard drawing workshop where you will learn about the differences between writing, lettering and typography before moving into a series of short exercises to demonstrate key principles of letter construction, rhythm, contrast and composition. At the end of the workshop, you’ll learn the skills to create chalk signs, menu boards or murals. All tools and materials are provided, and no prior knowledge is necessary. Enjoy a complimentary coffee by x coffee. This one is on us! |
