Targeting this stage since the previous time trial, Chad Haga and Team Sunweb planned to perfection, in attempt to deliver a strong performance on the final stage of the Giro d'Italia. Pacing his effort perfectly in the opening half of the stage before taking on the sinuous descent on his Cervelo P5 with precision, Haga went into the hot seat at the end of his run. Ultimately, the performance was good enough for the American to take his first Grand Tour stage win, and a win that means so much to the team after a difficult three weeks in Italy.
