Cellist Abel Selaocoe makes his Australian debut with the Australian Chamber Orchestra this month and we've got some very special live performances lined up for you. Hear an intimate performance with Selaocoe on Drive Live as the cellist joins Vanessa Hughes in the studio at 5pm today, 4 April. On Sunday 6 April at 2pm, we're bringing Selaocoe's performance with the ACO to you live from the Sydney Opera House. The concert brings together classical cello, African traditions, percussion and unbridled joy. Hear Selaocoe as soloist in Giovanni Benedetto Platti's cello concerto, as well as performing his own music alongside that of Nigel Westlake, and Stravinsky. Selaocoe will also team up with ACO Principal Cello Timo-Veikko Valve to perform excerpts from Giovanni Sollima’s double concerto, When We Were Trees. |
