Museum School Virtual Art Appreciation: Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun with Luc Travers Sunday, November 1, 2:30-4 PM CAM Members: $10; Non-Members: $15 Elizabeth Vigée-Lebrun (1755-1842) was one of the most renowned portrait painters of Paris in the 1780s, including being the personal portrait painter of the queen of France, Marie Antoinette. Then the French Revolution sent France--and Elizabeth's life--into turmoil, but that was only the beginning of a 50-year, international art adventure. In this class we'll look closely at what made her portraits so distinctive, and what made her one of the most sought-after portraitists of her time.
