Hello Litquakers,

February is a month to celebrate many things. Obviously, it’s Black History Month, as well as the month of Valentine’s Day, and, this year, Lunar New Year too, but did you know that February has specific days to celebrate all of these things: roses, chocolate, hot breakfast, stuffed mushrooms, marriage, innovation, drinking wine, family, cherry pie, presidents, fairy tales, clam chowder, flags, and cleaning out your bookcase. What we mean to say is that there's plenty to celebrate this month, whether it’s a people’s history, a wonderful romance, or your favorite food.

In which we convince our favorite writers to recommend a must-read book...

Kevin Dublin recommends The Body Has Memories by Adrienne Danyelle Oliver.

“I just received several of the books from Nomadic Press’ 2022 cohort, and I’m loving the first one I started, The Body Has Memories by Adrienne Danyelle Oliver. Her rhythms dance, diction entrancing, and the poems themselves are tender reminders that our bodies carry timeless history. I feel closer to myself and the ancestors as I read it.”

Thanks, Kevin!

Register to attend Kevin’s monthly reading series The Living Room Reading Series & Salon here. He will also be teaching a chapbook writing, editing, and publishing workshop at Syzygy SF in the Spring.
