36 years and 37 days old, Cavendish is the oldest rider to win a Tour stage since Joaquin Rodriguez, who won two stages in 2016, in Huy and the Plateau de Beille. Before Mark Cavendish in Fougères, the last 36 years old (or more) rider to win a sprint stage was Alessandro Petacchi, in 2010, in Brussels and Reims.
