Car of the Week: 1910 Buick 60 Special 'Bug' racer
The Alfred P. Sloan Museum automobile collection at the Sloan* Longway in Flint, Mich., houses incredibly historic vehicles such as a 1910 Buick pickup, 1913 Chevrolet Classic Six, 1951 XP-300 General Motors concept car, 1963 Buick Riviera Silver Arrow I concept car and the pictured 1910 Buick 60 Special race car. Lucky for me, the museum allowed me to photograph each of these notable vehicles.
Of the six automobiles I photographed from the Alfred P. Sloan Museum automobile collection, one really came to life. That car was the collection's 1910 Buick 60 Special race car, which raced at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway "Brickyard." Film makers, An Italian Garage have produced an eight-part documentary telling the story of the lost motorcycle and automotive maker. The series is called “The Iso Rivolta Chronicles.” Every episode centers around one particular model and its collector or restorer.

The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles announced that they are open to the public again! Concrete was poured, vehicles were re-arranged, walls were painted, lots of things were cleaned, and now they are back in business. The process was tedious, but they are anxious for you to see what they have accomplished.
Come out and join them on May 27th, 2017 from 9:30am-4pm for their official Grand Re-Opening. Light refreshments will be available. Live blacksmithing will be going on in the 1872 Jeremiah Sweinhart Carriage Factory all day.

Hershey, PA - Summer and performance cars seem to go together and this summer the AACA Museum will highlight several varieties of iconic American muscle cars - namely Camaros and Firebirds as they celebrate their 50th Anniversary at the AACA Museum.
