By being present in your body, you may find it easier to work on establishing a deeper body-mind connection. Perhaps you can try some form of exercise such as yoga, tai chi, or dance that connects you to your spirit today. While moving your body, you may want to notice what thoughts come up for you and how those thoughts impact you physically. If self-defeating thoughts arise for example, mentally scan your body to see where it holds tension. This tightness is your thought pattern manifesting itself physically. You can then breathe into that area and release the physical tension, which will help change your thought pattern. Learning to use your body in this way can bring you a greater sense of awareness about the connection between your thoughts and your physical sensations.
