A vigorous cold front is approaching which will bring a fantastic change by tomorrow. Unfortunately, the Fourth of July weekend gets a bit more complicated as another cold front approaches. Things will get warmer and more humid by again by Friday, and showers and thunderstorms are possible through Sunday. There is a chance we clear out Sunday afternoon into Monday — nicer weather, just in time! Today (Tuesday): Mostly cloudy in the morning with the potential to become partly cloudy later in the afternoon. Thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening, some of which could be strong or even severe. Highs should get up into the middle to upper 80s. Any brief breaks of sun could push a few of us briefly to 90 degrees, and the humidity is elevated (middle to upper 60s dew points). Winds blow from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Confidence: Medium Tonight: A few more storms and showers are possible. Total rainfall between today and tonight should range from 1/4 to 1/2 inch with locally higher totals around heavier thunderstorms. Light winds from the southwest shift to come from the northwest very late at night. Confidence: Medium |
