FORECAST IN DETAIL Here we are at hottest time of year, and today will not disappoint — as long as you have a pool to jump into! The combination of heat and humidity makes today feel like the hottest day of summer so far, and it may be capped off by some boomers. It is a little scary that just slipping back to seasonable temperatures on the weekend will be a relief. Storms this weekend should be few and far between making outdoor activities a cautious go. The heat and humidity return in force by Monday. Today (Thursday): Scattered clouds provide limited shape relief and humidity remains oppressive. This makes highs in the low-to-mid 90s feel more painful (heat indices in lower 100s). Thunderstorms are likely to hold off until late afternoon but could produce locally heavy downpours. Breezes are light from the west. Confidence: High Tonight: Storms may linger through around sunset, but they should be hit or miss. Readings in the 80s make the indoors still preferable. Overnight lows only manage the low-to-mid 70s with light southwest breezes. Confidence: High Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for the latest updates.
