Today into tonight, a front draped over the region draws in a deep supply of moisture from the south and west setting the stage for a good deal of rain. This stream of moisture keeps flowing through at least the first half of Tuesday, before departing at night. Between Wednesday and Sunday, heat and humidity build, and we won’t be able to rule out some late day storms. Today (Monday): Scattered showers develop this morning. Then rain increases in coverage and intensity during the midday and afternoon hours and may be heavy at times with some thunder. The dense cloud cover holds high temperatures to the mid-70s – more than ten degrees below normal. Over an inch of rain could fall. Confidence: Medium-High Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms are likely. However, some of our modeling suggests a break from the rain for a time during the evening, which could open a window for fireworks and other outdoor activities (50-50 chance). Overnight temperatures don’t fall off much, only into the low 70s or so. Confidence: Medium Rain forecast through 8 p.m. Tuesday by National Weather Service. (WeatherBell.com) |
