From the front page of The Canberra Times 43 years ago today: Between 100 and 200 Canberra public servants walked out of overheated offices yesterday chiefly in Barton and Kingston during the afternoon. Most left with the approval of their supervisors. Some even stayed on after approval was given to finish outstanding work. But it is understood that some, including staff of the Public Service Board, simply left without official blessing.
