A WORD FROM OUR HOSTS ALEX: One of the major perks of AM to DM is that we get to tap into the brilliance of the BuzzFeed News newsroom. As this week kicked off the public impeachment hearings, we spoke with a few different reporters to add context and insight to something just about every news organization is covering. I love that we get to hone in on the questions and topics our viewers care about when it comes to this massive story.
One of my favorite interviews this week was with Charli XCX and the band she’s created, Nasty Cherry. Charli is a force behind so much music we know — she penned the earworm “Señorita” — and her work has resonated with me for a long time. I really enjoyed talking to the person behind the bops and especially about her collaborations with LGBTQ artists. ZACH: Tim Robbins is the GOAT. That’s it. That’s the tweet. But I’m all seriousness, this week was amazing and had all the range, but our Tim sit-down was a reminder for me that when you give people the space to tell their truth...you will get gold. His ability to put into words what so many of our viewers has been feeling about Bush and the war in the Middle East. Also, Friday’s sit-down with Cynthia Bailey was a dream. She will always be my favorite peach.
