As part of its "Wisdom of Tradition" initiative, which highlights the role of culture and context in sustainable approaches to climate change adaptation, the UIA Sustainability Commission is organising a call for project submissions for publication. The Commission seeks completed projects that explore how to repurpose traditional knowledge and practices in a contemporary context. Some projects may also incorporate modern technologies. The objective is to showcase inherent wisdom of traditions and their potential to inspire contemporary sustainable solutions, while avoiding nostalgia and imitation. Two types of projects may be submitted: • Constructed projects • Restoration projects utilising novel sustainable techniques The call for projects closes on 30 November 2024 at 18:00 Paris time. UIA Selection Committee: • Region I: Fionnuala Rogerson (Ireland) • Region II: Mihaela Harmanescu (Romania) • Region III: Carlos Zeballos-Velarde (Peru) • Region IV: Yuji Iwahashi (Japan) • Region V: Emna Bchir (Tunisia) All contributions to the "Wisdom of Tradition" initiative will be acknowledged in the publication. | | |
