The story behind Images of Christ + 10% off!
| Hey John, Sometimes it’s hard to see beyond the classical ideas of Christ. The Christ you were taught about as a child. When you picture Christ what does he look like? Is he a he? In 2012 I drew my first Image of Christ. It was inspired by the theological idea that the Spirit of Christ is manifested in the reconciliation of all things - and people. I wanted to challenge the idea of the typical straight white male Jesus we see in traditional art. I wanted people to look at my drawings of Christ and see themselves. I wanted to provide healing. 18 images of Christ, 16 of which I’ve assembled into a Christ Collage print that you can see in my shop! This one is “Let Them Eat Cake” which I drew when a bakery refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple. Cakes are meant to be shared like love is. Let them eat cake, no matter who they love. |

I’m so proud of this series and I love the conversations it starts. See on my Instagram how “Let Them Eat Cake” helped someone see that Jesus loves him as he is. Much love my friend, David P.S.: Use code ALLPRINTS to get 10% off any print - for 72 hours only. If you want to have a closer look at the individual Images of Christ, they’re here on my website. |
