Media Winners & Losers

MEDIA WINNER:
Ari Melber

MSNBC's Ari Melber led the pack of non-Fox News hosts on Tuesday, scoring a strong total of 1.44 million viewers.

While Fox News outpaced all network competition for the top 15 hours on cable news Tuesday, Melber's numbers still placed him ahead of The Story, and the 6 and 7 a.m. hours of Fox & Friends.

Melber, who has been on a recent ratings streak, easily topped his CNN time slot competitor Wolf Blitzer, who earned 562,000 total viewers at 6 p.m., and beat out every other non-Fox News host.

He also scored a solid 145,000 viewers in the advertiser-coveted 25-54 age demographic.

On Monday, Melber's total viewer average only fell short of fellow MSNBC host Rachel Maddow's, once again becoming a leading non-Fox News host.

CNN's Oliver Darcy alsoreported that Melber's The Beat has crossed one-billion views on YouTube -- a rare feat for a cable news show.

"To quote one very reliable source, Jay-Z, 'One million, two million, three million, four / In just five years, forty million more,'" Melber told CNN's Oliver Darcy.

"Well in five years, we went from millions to a billion – and that’s all thanks to MSNBC viewers."

Kudos for consistently drawing in big numbers on cable and the notable YouTube success.

MEDIA LOSER:
Steven Crowder

Louder With Crowder host Steven Crowder launched a nasty public feudwithDaily Wire founders Ben Shapiro and Jeremy Boreing on Thursday.

Without naming Shapiro and Boreing specifically, the former Fox News personality and right-wing host accused the co-CEOs of"being in bed with" Big Tech, also revealing he turned down a$50 million, four-year deal with the Daily Wire.

In a response video, Boreing indeed confirmed that his media company offered Crowder that deal, sharing that Crowder turned down the stunning contract because he thought he was worth "closer to $30 million" a year.

That would yield an absolutely wild total of $120 million over 4 years.

While discussing the contract on his Tuesday broadcast, Crowder also alleged the Daily Wire threatened to "punish" him if major platforms or advertisers suspended or demonetized his channel.

Boreing and Shapiro both rejected the claim, accusing Crowder of misrepresenting the terms of the contract and noting that it used standard language regarding potential responses to decreases in ad revenue.

Crowder basically aired his dirty laundry and sparked a public blow-up with two of the biggest names in conservative media over what seems like a pretty good offer.
