MEDIA LOSER: Joy Behar In the political fallout over the disaster in East Palestine, The View's Joy Behar courted her own slice of controversy after saying that the accident is what the Trump-supporting residents "voted for." During a discussion about the politics around the train derailment, including criticism from the right of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Behar got into electoral preferences of the district where the accident took place. “I don’t know why they would ever vote for him,” said Behar, citing deregulation and an EPA appointment. “That’s who you voted for in that district,” she said, pointing directly into the camera. “Donald Trump, who reduces all safety.” The audience gasped at the remark. Behar's comments resulted in reactions from across the spectrum, including Meghan McCain, who called the remark from her former colleague "evil." Literally pointing the finger of blame at the victims over their presidential vote is off the rails, even for the opinionated hosts of The View. |
