Media Winners & Losers

MEDIA WINNER:
Chuck Todd

Chuck Todd, the anchor of Meet the Press on NBC News, demonstrated how to handle a tough interview with infamous verbal brawler Jim Jordan over the weekend.

During a Sunday interview on Meet the Press, Todd accused the Republican congressman from Ohio, who sits as head of the House Judiciary Committee, of scrutinizing President Joe Biden for his handling of classified documents while largely ignoring former President Donald Trump.

Todd proceeded to rattle off a list of instances in which the Justice Department under Trump appeared to either go hard after the former president's enemies or take it easy on his allies.

"The problem is that when you look at it is you want to talk about the weaponization of the Justice Department, you don’t want to look at anything that happened during the Trump years," Todd said to Jordan, later questioning the discrepancy.

Jordan completely ignored the question. He instead steered the conversation on to what was, for him, much friendlier ground — the recent revelations about the FBI’s relationship with Twitter via the Twitter Files.

Later in the interview, which earned praise from several liberal pundits, Todd challenged Jordan on his belief that Trump wasn’t given a fair shake.

Todd went on to push back at Jordan for decrying the fact that the FBI raided Trump's residence and not Biden's. “Because Biden didn’t defy a subpoena, Congressman!" Todd exclaimed.

Although Jordan remained stubborn, Todd denounced the congressman for applying a double standard while providing facts and clarity on the stories.

MEDIA LOSER:
Everyone That Spread Conspiracy Theories About Paul Pelosi's Attack

Full police body camera video of the brutal attack on Paul Pelosi was released Friday, further tarnishing every media figure who used the invasion to spread shameful conspiracy theories.

In November, Paul Pelosi, husband of Nancy Pelosi, was violently attacked in his home by David DePape, a right-wing conspiracy theorist who said he was hunting the former House Speaker.

Friday's footage shows police officers initially confused by the scene as they arrive at the Pelosi residence. Pelosi and the suspect are seen standing next to each other by the front door, as Pelosi tries to get his hands on the hammer DePape is holding. DePape then attacks Pelosi as the police rush to apprehend him.

Fox News additionally obtained footage of DePape breaking into the Pelosi home, while a recording of Pelosi's 911 call is also now public.

Prior to the release of these recordings, several figures on the right, such as Fox News host Will Cain, Donald Trump Jr., and former Republican congressman Devin Nunes, used the attack to mock Pelosi, slam Democrats, or spread baseless speculation on the incident.

One particularly deranged smear claimed Pelosi was in a sexual relationship with his attacker. The slander was gross before anything was released, and this new footage renders it grotesque.

And while some figures insist on clinging to the smear, even Glenn Beck conceded the attack was not the result of a "sex fest." Candace Owens and Mike Cernovich also shot down steadfast theorists, concluding that Pelosi handled the situation as well as he could have.
