| | | | Precision Technology is Transforming the Ag Landscape | | Last week, I had the opportunity to take part in InfoAg, a leading conference focused on the tools, technologies, products and practices that crop advisors can use to advance agriculture. It was a fascinating look at how precision technology and data are transforming the ag landscape. America’s Conservation Ag Movement hosted a session featuring supporting partners, National Corn Growers Association, The Nature Conservancy and Nutrien Ag Solutions, on how data and technology look from a producer perspective. Our biggest takeaway? The new tech and gadgets are phenomenal, but there’s a giant vacuum in helping producers organize their data and turn it into intelligence. Together with The Scoop, Farm Journal’s ag retail news and information brand, we also hosted a session geared toward what ag retailers ought to know about farmer perspectives on carbon. We had a lively conversation, and it became quickly apparent that there are more questions than answers in this fast-evolving space. One of the biggest opportunities we see at Trust In Food™ is to help farmers’ trusted advisers continue adding value to farm businesses through better sustainability, carbon and regenerative ag knowledge.
