Phase 3 Easing of Restrictions Announced
The State Government has announced Phase 3 of the roadmap to ease COVID-19 restrictions in WA, with significant changes coming into effect from Saturday, June 6 (11.59pm Friday, June 5).
As part of Phase 3, Western Australia will be the first State in the nation to implement a two square metre per person capacity rule for venues, replacing the previous four square metre rule, which is the current national advice.
Phase three includes: Non-work indoor and outdoor gatherings of up to 100 people at any one time, per single undivided space, up to 300 people in total per venue (100/300 rule); Food businesses and licensed premises may operate with seated service; Alcohol may be served without a meal at licensed premises (patrons must be seated); Food courts can reopen with a seated service; Beauty therapy and personal care services to reopen; Saunas, bath houses, float centres, massage and wellness centres to reopen (100/300 rule); Galleries, museums, theatres, auditoriums, cinemas and concert venues can reopen (during any performance, the patrons must be seated. (100/300 rule)); Rottnest Island to reopen to the WA general public; Arcades (including pool/snooker, ten pin bowling), skate rinks and indoor play centres to reopen (100/300 rule); Auction houses and real estate auctions can reopen; Full contact sport and training is now permitted; Playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor gym equipment are permitted to be used; Parents/guardians will be able to enter school grounds to drop off or pick up their children; Gyms, health clubs and indoor sports centres will be able to offer the normal range of activities, including the use of all gym equipment (gyms must be staffed at all times and undertake regular cleaning). WA businesses are reminded that they must submit a COVID Safety Plan, prior to reopening, to ensure they mitigate the risk of COVID-19, in line with health advice. Premises that opened during Phase 2 should update their COVID Safety Plans accordingly. Western Australians must continue to practice physical distancing and good personal hygiene at all times. |

COVID-19 Response Grants are available for City of Cockburn based businesses, community groups, and organisations for a range of projects, including changes to the operation of your business and projects or initiatives that promote or support business recovery. Applications close
What can I apply for?
COVID Response Grants can be used for a range of purposes, provided applications can demonstrate one or more of the following: Supporting increased demand for assistance from the City’s most vulnerable people Provide support to charitable groups well-placed to take action to meet the needs for crisis relief services (providing food, transport, accommodation, clothing, communications and other critical needs arising as a result of COVID-19) Being agile and flexible Increase inclusion and access to services or support through innovation or implementation of new ways of working to reduce barriers and facilitate inclusion (e.g. Aboriginal, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) Deliver alternate forms of service delivery to align with Government requirements to minimise the spread of the virus Implement responsive initiatives which meet new and emerging needs of the Cockburn community resulting from COVID-19 Increasing community and individual wellbeing Provide new services to increase wellbeing with initiatives that reduce stress, fear or anxiety in the community Implement responses to support safety within the community Deliver wellbeing activities to support physical, mental and social wellbeing of Cockburn residents Supporting community capacity building and cooperation Work together/form partnerships/facilitate new ways of working with businesses, not-for-profits and community groups to deliver positive outcomes to the Cockburn community Address identified local needs that are a result of the impacts of COVID-19 Deliver initiatives that promote or support community or business recovery Deliver community events that celebrate and promote recovery from COVID-19 impacts.
