During the year, a massive £72.2 million of Scottish Government COVID funding was processed and administered by the Business Gateway Fife and Fife Council Economic Development teams with 7,116 applications received. Business Gateway Fife was able to support 519 new business start-ups with a £19.9 million projected turnover, creating 676 new jobs. In addition, a further 113 jobs were created through Financial Support to Business grants. |

Scottish Government Sets Out Priorities for Scotland's Recovery The Scottish Government has explained how Scotland’s recovery from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic will be driven by an ambitious programme to build a modern, high-tech economy while staying true to enduring values of fairness and compassion. Recognising the importance of economic recovery, the First Minister said that the Government would continue its support for specific business sectors such as food and drink and tourism, and establish a Rural Entrepreneur Fund to support Scotland’s rural economy. Fife Bathroom Company Shortlisted for National Award Fife business, Sean Brown Plumbing and Heating Limited has been shortlisted for the new showroom of the year category in the Kitchen Bedroom and Bathroom Design and Retail Awards 2021. Ductform Completes Job For French Vertical Farm, Jungle - Paris Ductform has successfully completed the manufacture and installation of Insul-Tite pre-insulated HVAC Ductwork for Jungle, the French vertical farming company. Following construction work, the vertical growing towers will have a cultivable area of 5,500 square metres on 17 floors, and a delivery capacity of 100 tonnes of fresh produce per year, making this one of the largest vertical farms in Europe. By November, the aim is for as many UK small businesses as possible to join the UN’s ‘Race to Zero’, a global effort to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases we all generate to zero by 2050.
