1. Expedite authorization process under foreign exchange program: Plan Vallejo 

Considering the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the national production, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism issued Decree 1371 of 2020, aimed at boosting productive activities, employment generation and facilitating foreign trade operations. 

2. Rappi, the first Colombian unicorn, was heavily fined by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce.

The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce ("SIC") declared the non-compliance of Rappi towards several administrative orders issued by this Superintendence seeking, among others, the protection of the Colombian consumer. The fine imposed amounted to COP$702,242,400 c. USD 184,800.

3. The double taxation treaty between Colombia and France was enacted.

The President sanctioned the law by which the agreement between Colombia and France was approved to avoid double taxation, prevent tax evasion associates to income and wealth taxes. Among the regulated aspects are (i) the status of resident; (ii) the definition of permanent establishment; (iii) the principle of non-discrimination; (iv) the procedure for the resolution of disputes; and (v) the exchange of information.
