President Iván Duque assured that, although the sanitary emergency will be extended for 90 days, the country will seek the reopening of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues in cities with ICU occupancy levels below 85% and accelerate the application of vaccines.

WhatsApp LLC was cautioned by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce to comply with local data protection .

In a new attempt by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio – “SIC”) to expand its power to foreign entities, the data protection watchdog determined, among others, that WhatsApp LLC must create an Information Processing Policy and register its databases in the National Registry of Databases.

Government measures to reactivate the Seaport of Buenaventura.

The importance of this Seaport for Colombia’s economy has been magnified with its transitory closure due to social unrest in the city of Buenaventura. Hence, the President attended a meeting in the city to evaluate the fastest way to reactivate this relevant point of entry and exit of goods. The first concrete actions include supervision to road corridors and insurance policies for damages derived from protests.
